Wedding belles

8th January, 2010 by Katie

Perhaps there’s something in the air after Jo-ann’s piece about marriage, but FQ has become increasingly obsessed with Kat Williams’ blog Rock’nRollBride.

Set up to “provide a little haven of kick ass weddingness in the overly poofy, pastel and often puke-worthy wedding world”, Williams posts photographs of often jaw-dropping inventiveness, skill and beauty sent from brides around the world. Needless to to say tattoos, pink net and vintage-styling are more likely to make an appearance than matchy-matchy lilac or anything from Moss Bros, but the emphasis is on individuality, not necessarily on following a certain punk aesthetic.

The little stories that come with each picture are enough to melt the hardest of hearts, and there’s enough frock-porn to keep a gal going through the longest of lunchbreaks.

Now all we’ve got to do is find someone to propose to. . .

Yes, it’s a pretty cool website, some great outfits! Not getting married in the near future myself (!) but always like looking at the more alternative wedding sites (East Side Bride is also a good one) as often they’ve got some great crafty ideas for decorations or ideas for favours that can be adapted for home made gifts, as well as some good cocktail recipes.

Happy New Year to all at Fat-Quarter!
